Youth Services Officer

The Youth Services Officer:

Receives complaints concerning unruly conduct, delinquency and/or neglect.

Files petitions concerning the above problems.

Refers juveniles to public and private agencies for various services.

Supervises and assists approximately 60 juveniles on probation.

Prepares and maintains all records on juveniles for the Juvenile Court.

Schedules the calendar for the Juvenile Court.

Keeps all Juvenile Court docket books.

The Youth Services Officer maintains a close working relationship with all law enforcement agencies, schools and service organizations. 

The Officer is on call 24 hours a day.  Law enforcement agencies can call when a child needs to be placed in the Juvenile Detention Center or in the custody of the Tennessee Department of Children's Services.
