The Joint Economic and Community Development Board is a requirement of Public Chapter 1101 and was passed when Matt Kisber was in the Legislature.   Matt Kisber, of course, is the current Tennessee Commissioner, State of Tennessee, Department of Economic & Community Development.

The Executive board consists of the County Mayor, Lafayette Mayor and the Red Boiling Springs Mayor.

The full board consists of the County Mayor, Lafayette Mayor, the Red Boiling Springs Mayor, and various members of the community who represent manufacturing and industry.

If Counties do not have this board in place and functioning as a board, they are not eligible for any of the State Community Development grants.

The Executive Committee and the full board must meet four times a year or once a quarter.

For more information on the Joint Economic and Community Development Board, please contact Macon County Mayor Shelvy Linville.
