The Macon County Emergency Management Department works with TEMA,
the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and with FEMA, the Federal Emergency
Management Agency.
If there is a disaster in Macon County, Mr. Scruggs is
responsible for coordinating all of the emergency personnel (police, fire, EMS,
etc.) in the county.
There is a considerable amount of planning and training involved
to be sure that Macon County is prepared for any type of disaster.
