Air Evac Lifeteam, a membership-supported air ambulance service, provides emergency healthcare and rapid medical transport to rural communities throughout the central U.S., including Lafayette in Macon County.

Patients who can get to appropriate medical care within the first 60 minutes after a critical injury or illness have a much better change of making a full recovery. In rural areas, rapid medical transport is even more critical due to the distance to major trauma centers.

Air Evac Lifeteam crews include a pilot, registered nurse and paramedic. Crews can respond directly to the scenes of medical emergencies or transport patients between hospitals. Crewmembers have advanced training in emergency trauma care so they can begin medical care at the scene and continue en route to the hospital.

Air Evac Lifeteam offers a unique membership program that can give you peace of mind and save you money. Members pay an annual fee that allows them to be flown by Air Evac for life- or limb-threatening medical emergencies free-of-charge. If the member has insurance, Air Evac will bill the insurance company, but the member will not have to pay the remaining balance or any co-payments or deductibles.

Memberships are valid throughout all of Air Evac Lifeteam’s service areas.
